Na Gregory Crewdson, David Lachapelle en Dave Hill wordt het weer eens tijd om een groot fotograaf aan mijn eregalerij toe te voegen. Vandaag is dat Tim Walker. Walker is een Britse (mode)fotograaf die vooral bekend is geworden dankzij zijn werk voor Vogue. Bekijk bovenstaand filmpje en geniet van zijn mooie creacties. Ook leuk om te zien is de wijze waarop hij zich laat inspireren en hoe hij zijn bronnen vastlegt in scrapbooks.

Walker gebruikt nauwelijks Photoshop. Desondanks creëert hij zeer surrealistische fantasy-achtige beelden. Foto's moeten volgens Walker direct goed zijn. Waarschijnlijk een belangrijke reden voor hem om nog steeds analoog te fotograferen.

Een geweldig voorbeeld hoe creativiteit, kunst en reclame kunnen hand in hand gaan.

Today we look in my master of photography at Dave Hill. Hill is born and raised in California. He's a commercial and music photographer living in Los Angeles. I love the way he makes impressive pictures with lots of strobes on location, a lot of retouching and the results are great! Some of my pictures are influenced by Dave. This second post about my masters of photography is about David LaChapelle. LaChapelle (born March 11, 1969 in Fairfield, Connecticut) is a photographer and video/commercial/film director who works in the fields of fashion, advertising, and fine art photography, and is noted for his surreal, unique and often humorous style.

I really want you to see the video below about the making of Deluge, in my opinion one of his greatest works.

I would like to spend hours watching movies on youtube or viddler about great photographers. Unfortunately I have not enough time for that and I quess that's the same with you. So, I decided to show you some video of photographers I admire. Not all in one post but spread over several posts and not ordered in a certain way. Today I start with a Gregory Crewdson. Crewdson (born September 26, 1962) is an American photographer who is best known for elaborately staged, surreal scenes of American homes and neighborhoods. Crewdson shows that good photography is much more than just pushing a button on your camera.
